Call to Freedom is committed to identifying and responding to the needs of individuals at-risk of human trafficking and sexual exploitation and those working to transition out of human trafficking. The Grants Management Specialist will be responsible for all the grants management oversight by reporting to the Director of Impact & Program Relations and maintaining documentation of reported records. The Grants Management Specialist will also be responsible for writing grants including but not limited to federal, state, private, and foundation grants as well as researching funding opportunities, managing documents and deadlines, tracking and reporting results, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and managing databases.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Prefer bachelor's degree in business, English, social studies or relate field and/or experience with victims of violence, trafficking, trauma, and/or substance abuse helpful.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexible, self-directed, and responsive.
This position is hourly FTE 40 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:
Grant Research and Proposal Development:
- Identify and research potential funding sources including private foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors to support the agency operations.
- Write compelling grant proposals, applications, and reports that align with the organization's mission, programs, and goals.
- Conduct strategic prospect research to identify and pursue new funding opportunities, contributing to a targeted 15–25% increase in annual grant revenue within the first year.
- Collaborate with internal staff to gather relevant data, impact stories, and financial information to strengthen grant proposals.
- Be aware of the organization's needs and current trends regarding human trafficking, exploitation, and technology facilitated abuse.
Grants Management:
- Ensure that grant programs operate efficiently streamlining grant administration.
- Track deadlines, requirements, and deliverables for all active grants.
- Assist with timely and accurate submission of grant proposals and progress reports.
- Maintain a detailed database of current and potential funders and grants.
- Assist with adherence to federal and state grants compliance requirements.
- Prepare, review, and submit all budget and programmatic modification requests for state and federally funded projects.
- Track funder approval processes for budget and programmatic requests and communicate resolutions to staff.
- Monitor grant project spending and propose budget modifications as needed.
- Provide training and oversight to grant funded staff regarding time allocation.
- Assign grant funding codes to organizational costs (e.g. staff travel and client requests).
Relationship Management:
- Support relationship development with funders keeping them informed about program developments, successes, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with funders and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Attend meetings, events, and conferences to represent the organization and engage with potential funders.
- Conduct quarterly state and federal monitoring visits with subgrantees. Provide quarterly updates to the President & CEO.
- Develop site visit structure and documentation for sub grantees' quarterly visits.
Reporting and Impact Assessment:
- Support preparation of impact reports to funders highlighting the outcomes and successes of funded programs.
- Collect and analyze data to demonstrate the effectiveness of funded projects and ensure funds are used in accordance with donor guidelines.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of the organization's financial, grant, and client information.
- Review all grant financial reporting.
- Update reports and manage use of foundation grants.
Collaboration and Internal Support:
- Work closely with organization's executive leadership to align grant applications with organizational priorities and programmatic goals.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of funding strategies and organizational funding needs.
- Provide grant-related support to other team members as needed.
- Facilitate with Director of Finance all monthly agency federal and state drawdowns.
- Assist in the preparation of the federal and state grant budgets, applications, and drawdowns.
- Work with Call to Freedom program development to effectively collect statistical data.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit; use hands to handle or feel (keyboard, use copy machine, etc.) and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to move about and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch (reach for supplies on shelves at shoulder height or above).
- The employee is required to sit and occasionally climb or balance (Balance while assisting moving supplies. Climb a flight of 2-6 steps).
- The employee must be able to view computer screens for long periods of time (50% or more of the time for the position is computer-related or brief periods of time).
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move about up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move about up to 30 pounds (lift copy paper or supplies from one level to another).
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
REQUIRED COMMUNICATION/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING SKILLS:
- Exceptional Writing Skills: demonstrated ability to write clear, persuasive, and impactful grant proposals, reports, and correspondence.
- Research Skills: ability to identify funding opportunities through research and leverage quantitative and qualitative data to craft compelling proposals.
- Organizational Skills: highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with funders, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: accuracy in tracking grant requirements, managing deadlines, and preparing reports.
- Time Management Skills: proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines. Must be highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently with limited oversight.
