Description
Valmet is seeking great people to mentor into the next generation of paper industry professionals. Help us remain champions to our customers while being good neighbors and stewards of the earth reducing our impact to the environment.
As a *Melt Department Team Member* you will interact in a team environment placing molds onto pouring tray to prepare for pouring, prepare furnace for melting, charge furnaces and melt metals required for pouring. You will be responsible for preparing ladles for pouring of metals and creating castings. To be successful in this role, employees will be cross trained in the following areas within the department; Furnace Reline Operation, Furnace Operation, TruFlow Operation, Charge Operation, Ladle Reline Operation, and Pouring Operation.
*Primary duties will include:*
Follow all safety policies and procedures in place to produce quality parts for our customers
Set-up molds for preparation on the TruFlow
Work on planning production requirements (i.e. materials, time) to ensure most effective methods are utilized
Calculation of charge material and total weight
Coordinate mold movement into cooling area
Sinter, repair and reline furnace
Repair and reline ladles
Perform furnace and ladle slagout
Charge and operate furnace
Pour molten metal into molds
Operate forklift
Versatility in all skills in the Melt Department
Expectations

Must have a high level of initiative
Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to lift to 50 pounds
Ability to push or pull heavy loads with the assistance of a wheeled cart, hoist, or other lift assist equipment
Ability to withstand exposure to noise and extreme heat
Experience with melt applications
