Description

The primary purpose of the Transportation Aide is to drive facility vehicle to transport residents, staff and volunteers to desired destinations. Provides assistance/escort for residents to and from appointments, home visits or scheduled activities. This position is considered a full-time position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Review daily Appointment schedule and be available, as indicated.

Meet weekly to Coordinate Schedule with Unit Managers

Provide assist of residents transferring to and from wheelchairs.

Assist nursing and rehabilitation personnel with transfers to and from vehicle.

Transport residents to and from scheduled appointments, home visits, activity outings

Inform nursing staff of any incidents/problems.

Maintain positive, professional interaction with residents and staff, physician offices, hospitals, etc.

Other duties to be performed while not transporting patients:

Nursing Assistant duties and responsibilities as assigned (See attached description)

Providing residents with direct care and helping with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including Transfers, showers, Answering Call lights on Unit.

Recording resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.

Providing residents with personal care needs

Assist with Ice Pass

Routinely turning and positioning residents, while using proper body mechanics to lift and transport

Transport Aide will be primarily be performing STNA duties/responsibilities when not scheduling appointments/transporting patients. Unless otherwise requested.

Hours of work will mostly be during medical office hours M-Friday. Occasionally there will be a need for transport for a weekend outing/appointment In this case hours will be flexed from M-Friday schedule to ensure weekly hours are met.

This position is considered full time position, daily working hours are 7.5 including an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.

Position will include a company cell phone to be used for communication with the facility and transport locations. It is the responsibility of the Transportation Aide to make sure company property is maintained. Must have good driving record
