    Palm Village Retirement Community has been serving seniors and the community for over 80 years and sits on a 17 acre campus on the southwest edge of Reedley across from the Kings River.

    We are a tax exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).

    Our programs and care levels are designed to meet individual needs and encourage an active and friendly community for seniors.


    Palm Village's five levels of care include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation, Assisted Living Memory Care and Skilled Memory Care.

    Educational and Experience Requirements:


    The Licensed Nurse must be licensed as a vocational nurse by the State of California, and be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    Experience in long term care and six (6) months prior experience is preferred.
    Current CPR certification required.


    Other Requirements:
    Must have a good working knowledge of the needs of the senior adult population and their families.
    Must have the ability to work with all types of people.
    Must have a commitment to work as a team member and be able to work with minimal supervision.
    Must exude a compassionate, empathetic and supportive character toward the residents of Palm Village.
    Must be sensitive to, respectful of, and willing to become knowledgeable of Palm Village theology and interdenominational services.

    Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.

    Must possess supervisory ability, good communication skills, and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional staff.

    Must have the ability to plan, organize and schedule work tasks and duties for assigned staff; and ability to interpret program, goals, objectives, policies and procedures necessary to providing quality care to assigned staff.

    Takes initiative to identify and solve problems.


    Working Conditions:
    May be exposed to infectious waste and disease (including HBV and HIV).
    Moves throughout nursing facility throughout workday.
    Must be able to cope with emotional and hostile, families, guests, staff and other visitors.
    Will be required to work after regular work hours, on holidays, and on weekends.
    May be required to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.


    Equipment Used:


    Telephone, fax, copier, mechanical lift, nail clippers, scales - chair, bed, floor, glucometer, syringes/needles, medicine/Tx carts, BP cuff, stethoscope, thermometers, beds - rails and positioning, wheelchair, germ-chair, walkers, hangar pump, suction machine, oxygen tanks and tubing, restraints, walkers, canes, foley catheters, special splints on residents, nebulizer, gait belts, and fire extinguisher.
