Description
Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
Join our team as a Special Education Teacher in Washington, D.C, and make a difference in the lives of students with special needs.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide instruction and support to students with disabilities, collaborate with a team of educators, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to ensure student success.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
Provide direct instruction to students using various teaching strategies and accommodations
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments
Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and IEP documentation
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and participate in IEP meetings
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Valid teaching certification in Special Education for D.C or any of the surrounding states
Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
Knowledge of special education laws and best practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Pay Rate:
The hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35to $38per hour, based on qualifications and experience with room for negotiation
This position will last through the summer as well, so you will be ableto work full time hours over the summer in addition to during the regular school year
