- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status, including physical, emotional, and psychosocial factors.
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments, including goals, interventions, and expected outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatments, medications, and interventions, identifying and addressing any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Perform various nursing procedures and interventions, such as wound care, catheterization, IV therapy, and tracheostomy care, with precision and attention to patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers, and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, medications, and self-care practices.
- Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring respectful and compassionate care.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records (EHR) or other medical record systems.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and evidence-based practice activities to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and institutional policies governing nursing practice and patient care.
- Maintain licensure and certification through ongoing professional development activities, continuing education, and adherence to state-specific requirements.
