    Position Summary:

    The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile equipment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and effective operation of equipment while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance on mobile equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
    • Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets operational standards.
    • Replace or repair parts, including bearings, gears, valves, and bushings.
    • Maintain organized work areas and complete repair logs/documentation.
    • Interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and technical diagrams for maintenance.
    • Operate and inspect mobile equipment to identify potential issues.
    • Assist in operational and production activities as directed by supervisors.

    Competencies:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
    • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
    • Ability to operate mobile equipment and follow safety protocols.
    • Collaborates effectively with electricians, operators, and team members.
    • Committed to maintaining a safe working environment.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of 1-year experience repairing and maintaining forklifts and other mobile equipment.
    • Proven experience or formal training as a mobile mechanic.
    • Proficiency in welding and operation of mobile equipment.
    • Must possess the necessary tools to perform job duties.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
    • Experience with preventative maintenance and minor repair tasks.

    Shift Schedule:

    * Rotating 12-hour shifts.* May include 8-hour shifts or Monday-Friday shifts.

    Physical Demands:

    • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
    • Regular use of hands for handling tools and materials.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, metal dust, fumes, and vapors.
    • Working in confined positions to access equipment for maintenance and repair.
