    Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

    Position Summary

    The Assistant Coach is responsible for specifically designated aspects of the women's lacrosse program, exercises independent judgment in providing technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, teaching student-athletes basic and advanced skills, and assisting the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach in management of the team through recruiting, program development, fund-raising, promotional activities, and related assigned responsibilities. The Assistant Coach teaches, guides and mentor's student-athletes throughout the academic year.

    Minimum Required Education and Experience

    Bachelor's Degree Required. 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Coaching experience in a NCAA Division I level program is preferred. Master's Degree Preferred.

    Job Duties
    • Enables the achievement of a quality, competitive women's lacrosse program and supports the educational goals of individual student-athletes by demonstrating a coaching philosophy which encourages those goals, teaches all aspects of the related sport, and promotes an environment conducive to both.
    • Assumes responsibility for a particular aspect of the women's lacrosse program as assigned by the Head Coach, planning short and long terms objectives under the leadership of the head coach, demonstrating technical expertise in the basics of the sport, and teaching the fundamentals and advanced level skills and game strategies to student-athletes
    • Protects the integrity of the women's lacrosse program and the reputation of the intercollegiate athletics program of the University by complying with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations as well as applicable conference rules and University policies regarding recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility determination, scholarships and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related covered activities.
    • Reduces the likelihood of sports-related injuries or the aggravation of such injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by being knowledgeable of the injuries sustained in the sport and proper prevention methods, supervising appropriate pre-training session and pre-contest preparations and warmups, and referring injured student-athletes to qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers.
    • Represents the University through extensive recruiting for the women's lacrosse program requiring frequent travel and a vast knowledge of the University and the related sport that is communicated throughout the recruiting process.
