    Summary
    Our client, a dynamic, national, full-service law firm, seeks a Marketing and Business Development Specialist.

    As the Business Development Specialist, you will work on various initiatives supporting revenue-generating and general marketing and visibility opportunities for attorneys, practice areas, and industry teams.

    This role represents an ideal challenge for an experienced and ambitious business development specialist looking for a hands-on role in an environment that offers work-life balance and collaboration to achieve team goals.

    The Business Development Specialist will report directly to the Marketing and Business Development Director and coordinate the firm's business development activities.

    You will work seamlessly with the practice group leaders, partners, and other senior members daily.

    Specific focus areas will include support for individual attorneys' business development marketing plans and meetings, crafting pitch materials and responding to RFPs, research, planning, and supporting business development events and sponsorships (seminars, webinars, dinners, etc.), and other general business development activities.

    Experience and knowledge of media and digital marketing, SEO, email and social media marketing, and content writing are essential and a huge asset.

    The ideal candidate will also have impeccable communication skills (both verbal and written), is creative, enjoys brainstorming, is proactive, and can help led business development activity rather than simply taking ideas and delivering.

    The candidate must display integrity, impeccable service, and a "can-do" attitude.
    Responsibilities

    Work with Attorneys to develop and execute individual business development plans and contribute to the practice groups' business development plans, ensuring completion of strategies and tactics.

    Provide advice to law firm leadership, practice groups, and partners focused on expanding relationships with existing clients, generating new business leads, and developing new projects and initiatives;
    Assist in maintaining a pipeline of opportunities; tracking results of pitches and proposals; providing timely ideas and other support to ensure consistent progress towards achieving business development goals;
    Prepare sophisticated, detailed, and persuasive pitch materials, including RFP responses and tailored marketing collateral, attorney profiles, PowerPoints, advertisements, invitations, pitches, and proposals;
    Record business development activities, efforts, and results in a department-wide tracking database;

    Produce and disseminate internal reports on previous and upcoming business development activities for individual attorneys, practice areas, and the firm overall.

    Review and research companies, industries, and competitors related to pitches and other strategic initiatives;
    Develop attorney, practice area, and industry insights, communicating recommendations and applicable information to lawyers;
    Contribute to market recognition efforts, including overseeing the development of legal directory submissions (Chambers USA, Best Law firms, etc.);
    Help update and maintain the firm's experience and content management database, performs queries, and generates reports as needed.

    Support the planning and execution of firm events, including seminars, webinars, client entertainment, and receptions, and fully coordinates sponsorships to leverage benefits.

    Support marketing communications-related activities, as needed, such as website updates and improvements to attorney biographies and online profiles, including LinkedIn.

    Helps update and maintain the firm's digital platforms (website, CRM system, review platform, social media, JDSupra, etc.)
    Qualifications
    An undergraduate, 4-year degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred;
    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development and previous law firm experience is highly desirable.
    Experience working independently and within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
    Experience with, and a strong understanding of, legal marketing, advertising, and law firm dynamics.
    Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, presentation, and overall communication skills with strong attention to detail;
    Needs to work well under pressure and be a strategic thinker, excellent problem-solver, and team player;
    Strong computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required;
    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization;
    Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with limited supervision and within a fast-paced environment;
    Ability to provide consistent and high-quality work under tight deadlines.
    Compensation
    The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
