We're specialists when it comes to household moves and government, corporate and military relocations. Our experts can coordinate all of the details, including customs clearance and country-specific regulations.

    The hourly range for this position is $20 - $22/hr.
    Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

    Support Specialist

    Our organization seeks to hire a Support Specialist to support our team of Logistics Move Coordinators. Our contract is with the U.S. Department of State, moving household goods and personal effects (via ocean and air) for Embassy employees to/from American Embassies throughout the world.

    This position is vital to the success of the many tasks associated with door-to-door service required by this contract. It requires daily interaction with your appointed Move Coordinators and Management within the department.

    Given the nature of a government contract; the skill set listed below, strong work ethic, and dedication to support the team are key to be successful in this position.

    Office skills, duties, and responsibilities for this fast pace environment include:

    • Strong computer skills a must. Data entry accuracy is critical. Access database, Outlook, Word, Excel at a proficient level.

    Duties:

    • New move data entry in Access, prepare file folder
    • Process GBL (Government Bill of Lading) and prepare Packing/Marking Instructions
    • Weight ticket data entry in Access
    • Saving/printing of many documents such as Weight ticket, Inventory, Pre-Move survey, US Customs documents, Invoices, Ocean Bill of Lading, delivery documents etc
    • Accessorial requests – email the Department of State and enter Accessorial in Access
    • Billing – creating PDF and upload into Access
    • Request air freight rates via email
    • Call agents, on behalf of your coordinator, for origin or destination services as needed
    • Claim research as needed to assist coordinator in reaching a settlement

    Office Skills:

    • Organization: Key factor and function as the Support Specialist to 3 coordinators.
    • Manage a high volume of emails: Both incoming and outgoing.
    • Time management: Must have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize workload.
    • Multi-task - Must be flexible and able to focus and execute numerous tasks simultaneously.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities
    • Work well under pressure.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Work in a Team environment.
