Tax Senior Accountant - Tax Supervisor or ManagerJob DescriptionTax Senior Accountant

Tax Partners and Managers
Job Summary:
The Tax Senior is responsible for reviewing individual, trust, partnership, corporate and foreign tax returns, developing and supervising tax staff, preparing more complex tax returns and assisting in client management and practice development activities.
Salary Range & Benefits:

Hours Required : 40 hours per week; hours not to exceed 55 per week during busy season
Responsibilities & Duties:
Know and understand the firm's policies and proceduresPossess a working knowledge of firm technology and time and billing softwareImplement client engagements from start to finish including planning, executing, directing and completing tax assignmentsManage engagement budgetsSupervise, train and mentor tax staff and interns on tax projectsReview tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunitiesPrepare more complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships and corporationsProactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve tax related problems and make recommendations for businesses and process improvementsGain understanding of client operations, processes and business objectivesPossess an understanding of state and foreign tax issuesPerform other job-related duties as necessary and ability to work additional hours as needed
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum of two years as a Tax Staff Accountant in a public accounting firm or at least one year experience as a Tax Senior Accountant supervising a team of three or moreStrong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns and combined state tax returnsProficiency in Engagement and Microsoft Office software programs, particularly ExcelAbility to supervise staff and lead projectsProfessionalism, dependability, integrity and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitudeHighly motivated self-starter with the ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlinesDedicated to superior client serviceStrong organizational skills and attention to detailCPA certification (active) or working toward if not already obtained
Education & Licenses:
Bachelor or Master's degree in AccountingCPA certification (active) or working toward if not already obtained
