Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist provides patient care by cleaning, processing and sterilization of the instruments.
The Surgical Technologist demonstrates responsibility and accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments in accordance with policies and procedures.
The Surgical Technologist is responsible and accountable in performing as a primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure while applying principles of sterile technique.
The Surgical Technologist contributes to expected patient outcomes in accordance with policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. Surgical Technologist position requires call.
The Central sterile tech must have knowledge of all sterile processing chemicals. Central Sterile Processing Technician minimum job requirements include: sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive).
Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are needed. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
Must have the ability to lift/push/pull greater than 50 pounds.
May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, cold, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases.
