    Description


    Are you looking for your next career move? We are currently looking for Web Second Press Operators to join the Mittera family where ideas are valued and internal mobility is promoted Web Second Press Operators assist with the set up and operation of a printing press in coordination with the Press Operator and assists crew members on the press, ensuring each job is run according to customer specifications and meeting internal and external deadlines; maintains quality control and reduces waste or press downtime.

    Follows departmental regulations and procedures to process customer jobs through the Department on a timely basis and within specified quality standards.

    Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReads and understands the job ticket, layout sheet, artwork, and other specifications before beginning assigned jobKnow set-up and maintenance procedures for entire pressPrograms correct color standards into CPC to make needed color adjustmentsAchieves color OK (match/approval) to proofs under the direction of the Press SupervisorInterprets color bars, star targets, side guide marks and slur indicators to control print qualityBalances and maintains ink and water systems for print qualityMaintains color during press run with color OK sheetsPerform press operations such as make-readies, folder operation, register color, and maintenance Review job orders to determine print quantity, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions Pull proofs to check for ink coverage and density, alignment, and registration Assist the Press Operator on adjusting and maintaining proper web tension to allow job to run at correct speedEnsures good housekeeping practices are followed in order to maintain a clean, healthful, and safe work area around the press for employees and customersPerforms routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipmentKeep ongoing list of maintenance issues to be addressed Perform other duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Skills and AbilitiesHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED years of experience as a multicolor web second press operator preferredFull comprehension in reading work instructions and business memosEffective communications skills with all levels within the organizationAbility to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problemsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formMust have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlinesBe organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervisionHas basic computer skills Must be self-motivated, reliable, and quality, safety orientedPhysical RequirementsRequires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bendingPushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbsRequires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordinationRequires near visual acuityRequires working around and operating departmental equipmentMust be able to access and navigate each department in the facilityRequires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstancesWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

    The employee is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials. A production employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
