    Director of Pricing

    Job Purpose:


    The Director of Pricing must be able to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities in a schedule-driven environment, and be responsible for the day-to-day management, training, mentoring, and career development of a team of estimating professionals.

    This team is engaged in the assessment of SCI's and competitor capabilities, as well as technology trends, and providing independent cost estimates for a wide range of complex evaluations in support of acquisition decision points and strategies.

    The Director of Pricing shall provide oversight, support to, and review of all work products, and must be able to function in a fast-paced proposal environment.

    The position requires collaboration with executive management, operations management, program management, andbusiness development counterparts to assist in the development of cost modeling across the various Business segments, including design, development, prototyping, production, and sustainment.

    Nature of Duties

    :

    Evolve and maintain process and procedures; define standards for estimation and validate potential cost estimation relationships (CERs)
    Advise managers and other decision makers on the impacts of various courses of action as it relates to pricing and costing
    Employ the theories, principles and practices of analytical costing in support of the development of cost estimates that include data collection, data normalization, data analysis, risk analysis and sensitivity analysis
    Collect and organize information from technical or other subject matter experts, technical documentation, historical cost records, or open-source data to identify relationships, trends, and patterns in, or draw conclusions from that information
    Use statistical analysis or simulations to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems
    Work closely with the operations team to normalize labor standardization
    Coordinate with finance on the method of defining standard labor rates for commercial proposals
    Maintain current understanding or the FAR, D-FAR, CFR and Government Cost Accounting Systems
    Collaborate with finance and Program Management on the methods implored by SCI in the formulation of EAC/ ETC
    Mentor subordinates on the methods of proposal analysis and costing as they relate to industry standards and best practices for Defense and Aerospace environment
    When applicable or available, collect and analyze competitive intelligence data
    Other duties as assigned
    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree in either a technical or financial discipline. 15+ years of related industry experience in a DoD contractor environment (Masters preferred)
    Must be well organized, manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities, team within and outside organization, and meet required deadlines.
    Candidate must understand cost estimating principles and recognize opportunities for business improvement.

    Candidate must also have a working knowledge of analogous and parametric estimating techniques, complexity factors and cost estimating relationships (CERs).

    Ability to effectively present findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner

    Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, proven problem-solving skills, leadership and interpersonal skills and be a proven team player, who is highly organized and achievement oriented.

    Creative thinker with the capability to think out of the box.

    Provide financial insight to the business through analytical insight, financial modeling, and other tools to aid in reaching the appropriate financial decisions for the business.

    Ability to work closely with the finance and accounting staffs while driving a results-oriented culture and an atmosphere of accountability.

    Drive operational and financial performance through analysis of financial results and key performance indicators including orders visibility, pricing scenarios, margin analytics and product/segment profitability
    Demonstrate organizational and time management skills in dealing with competing priorities, deadlines, and in handling multiple tasks.
