Job Summary
The Visiting Full Time Floater Position reports every day but is not assigned to a permanent classroom. This position will fill in as a substitute wherever needed based on priorities established by administration. The Visiting Full Time Floater may work in any educational or support position including but not limited to, classroom assistant, food service, administrative support or other responsibilities as assigned. The Visiting Full Time Floater must utilize effective forms of communication and guidance with all individuals present to ensure that they are following best practices, the NAEYC code of ethics and upholding their duties and expectations while at the CCD.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a flexible mindset, able and willing to step in and fill any job deemed necessary and appropriate by administration with little to no advance notice
Be knowledgeable about NAEYC and State standards
Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
Abide by procedures, policies, handbooks, responsibilities, and expectations set forth by the Employee Manual and Administration
Assist in the effective communication between families, program staff, University laboratory students, University faculty, community resources
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or GED and six months of related work experience. Required to obtain appropriate CPR and First Aid certification. Acceptable background check for childcare licensure in the state of Mississippi and acceptable immunization record (121 Form) for working in an early childhood setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to effectively guide and supervise young children to ensure safety and implement developmentally appropriate practice.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
Ability to move freely, lift, sit, and stand with ease
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Ability to effectively supervise children and University students in variety of settings, including indoor classrooms, outdoor learning environments, and local field trips year-round.
Excellent organization and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited and college or university in Child and Family Studies or related field. Two years of work experience in the field of early childhood.
