    Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

    We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team for the current school year. This is a full-time contract position in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate must meet all requirements set by local and state regulations. Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other professionals.
    • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their diverse needs.
    • Assess students' progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
    • Utilize evidence-based practices and assistive technology to support students' learning and development.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the inclusion of students with disabilities in the general curriculum and school community.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and addressing concerns as they arise.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' academic and behavioral progress, including IEP documentation and progress monitoring data.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based meetings as required.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
    • Valid teaching license or certification in Special Education from the state of Illinois.
    • Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred.
    • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
