    Description
    Applied Spectra, Inc. is seeking an energetic, capable Field Engineer to join our fast-growing team.

    The Field Service Engineer will perform on-site routine services including installation, maintenance, and repair; handles service contracts; develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery.

    Ensure all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Previous experience installing analytical instruments preferred but not required.


    Responsibilities:

    • Perform final assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex Electro-Mechanical and Electro-Optical systems for function and safety
    • Author manufacturing documentation (Work Instructions, Test Protocols, Component Specifications, etc.) to meet manufacturing and Quality System requirements
    • Provide basic training for customers
    • Provide clear and effective remote technical support via phone and/or electronic based (email/webbased)
    • Deliver, install, configure, perform final testing, and service of instruments at remote customer sites
    • Provide technical support using phone, email, and remote access tools
    • Perform regular maintenance for installed systems through field service visitsRequirementsMinimum Job Requirements/Qualifications
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering documentation including assembly drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
    • Strong technical and highly proficient with lab and testing equipment including automated test systems, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems
    • Highly proficient with hand and power tools including soldering stations, crimpers, drills, etc.
    • Travel domestically and internationally (up to 17 weeks/year)
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience configuring computer components including PCs
    • Strong understanding and handson experience with mechanical systems and parts assembly.
    • Resultsdriven with a strong sense of responsibility and independence
    • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask
    • Effective, professional, and clear communication skills, both oral and written.

    Education / Experiences:

    • 46 years of experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or significant experience is a plus Prior laser systems experience is a plus Experience preparing device history records (DHR) is a plus Documentation of Non-Conforming Material experience is a plus Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role Well versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery and equipment An analytical mind and strong problemsolving ability Ability to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekends

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

    • Must be able to work independently, and in small crossfunctional teams
    • Prior experience working in an ISO or a GMP environment a plus
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Excellent manual dexterity
