    Job Summary

    The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) plays a vital role in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position requires proficiency in secretarial duties and meets qualifications required for a Certified Nursing Assistant.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinates all clerical functions in the Emergency Department.
    • Maintains a safe work environment and ensures supplies are available.
    • Supports healthcare providers to provide cost-effective, quality care to the population served in the ED.
    • Assists with orienting new employees and students as required.

    Requirements

    • High School graduate or GED required.
    • Current listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services.
    • Current BLS maintained.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
    • Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares.
    • Ability to hear within normal range.
    • Ability to reach overhead.
    • Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively, and develop priorities during stressful situations.
    • Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal media.
    • Ability to move and operate equipment and carry supplies.
    • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
