    POSITION:
    Emergency Management and School Safety Officer
    SUMMARY:
    With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision, and core values, the Emergency Management and School Safety Officer oversees the district's crisis management plan and incident response, and leads, educates, and informs the district in emergency planning and other strategies to ensure the safety of the school community. The Emergency Management and School Safety Officer establishes emergency response teams, roles, and responsibilities and conducts risk assessments, hazard analyses, and vulnerability assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards and risks in the district's physical environments.

    EDUCATION/
    LICENSE REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, public safety, emergency management, public or business administration, or other related area is required.
    • Five (5) years of related experience is required.
    • Valid Minnesota driver's license and evidence of mobility are required.
    • Minnesota Emergency Management Training Certificate, and/or Certified Emergency Manager through the International Association of Emergency Managers, and/or equivalent Certificate of Completion of Incident Command System 100, 200, 300, and 400, or Minnesota equivalent are preferred.
    • Must reside within an area that allows to respond effectively to emergency or unplanned incidents at the school district within sixty (60) minutes.
    EDUCATION/
    LICENSE PREFFERED:
    • Experience utilizing the Incident Command System (ICS) protocol for organizational preparedness and operations and/or I Love U Guys Foundation Standard Response Protocol is preferred.
