    We are hiring for a Summer Day Camp Operations Director at Camp Chickami for the 2024 Summer season Please apply here if you are interested in joining us for the 2024 as our Camp Operations Director at one of our day camps.

    YMCA Camp Chickami is a traditional summer day camp located in Wayland, MA. Founded in 1955, Camp Chickami has inspired kids with countless opportunities to laugh, lead and make lasting friendships. The Operations Director is responsible for implementing and refining daily operations at Camp Chickami. This individual is directly responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative management of all program areas.

    The Operations Director will work in conjunction with the leadership team and counselors to deliver an excellent camp experience to our campers in a safe and well-maintained facility.

    Supporting the Camp Director and Camp Assistant Director in various administrative tasks will be key to this role.

    Work closely with Camp Director and Assistant Director to ensure smooth daily operations of camp.

    Monitoring phone lines and email inboxes.

    Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: Keep track of and reply to the primary camp email address in a professional and appropriate manner.

    Work with Camp Director and Assistant Director to manage daily sign-in and sign-out procedures.

    Generate, update, and distribute all attendance documents for each session.

    Create and manage all bus attendance lists; print and distribute afternoon attendance lists to staff mailboxes.

    Handle all sensitive information in a confidential manner.

    Maintain digital and manual filing systems.

    Collaborate with camp leadership team on scheduling, supply ordering, and marketing/announcements of special events (LIT Trips, Family Nights, Special Events, Carnival, etc.)

    Actively participate in planning of staff training, meetings, etc.

    Assist with supply ordering, especially office supplies.

    Participate in all programs, special events, family nights, overnights/sleep-unders, and other events as assigned.

    Help out with all camp activities and participate as a member of the camp staff team.

    Demonstrate/teach the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to all campers and staff.

    Follow all camp rules, regulations, and policies and enforce them among peers.
    High School graduate enrolled in college pursuing a social science/education degree or related field.

    Proficient in Google suite, Microsoft excel, word, outlook. Ability to supervise and motivate staff and campers.

    Ability to handle assignments and follow through with minimal instruction and supervision.

    Sound judgment, integrity, problem solving skills and risk management.

    Human relation skills with general public and staff.

    Creative program planning and implementation.

    Current First Aid and Adult and Child CPR certifications.
