    We are looking for an Advanced CNC Machinist experienced in the set-up and operation of Lathe and Mill-Turn machines for our client in Raleigh, NC.

    The Advanced CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up computerized numerically controlled machine tools and related equipment for machining operations.

    Some essential functions of the Advanced CNC Machinist include participating in problem solving activities and contributing to quality improvements.

    The Advanced CNC Machinist will also be responsible for training other employees and providing performance assessment feedback to the supervisor.

    As and advanced-level member of the team, the Advanced CNC Machinist will be expected to take initiative to stimulate team-based quality and productivity improvement activities, supporting the basis for continuous improvement, and actively promoting a teamwork-focused atmosphere and supporting overall team development.


    Responsibilities:

    • Set up and operation of Lathe and Millturn machines
    • Training team members and providing performance feedback
    • Writing and modifying programs
    • Managing multiple machines
    • Demonstrated problem analysis and problem solving skills.
    Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM


    Skills:

    • Mazak HQR or similar experience highly preferred.
    • Mazatrol experience is highly preferred.
    • Experience with CMMs, both stationary and portable.
    (Romer Arms, Faro Arms, Keyence, etc.)

    • Experience with Mastercam programming.
    • Experience with prototype machining.
    • A Journeyman certificate for CNC Machining, Tool and Die Making, or Injection Mold Machining.
    • Capable of writing and or modifying programs by hand.
    • Haas and Kitamura experience preferred.
    • An understanding of GD&T tolerancing.
    • Possess good written/oral communications skills, as well as the ability to present his/her views in a clear and compelling manner across all levels of the organization.
    • A believer and driver of continuous improvement activities that will deploy Lean methodology throughout the department.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
    • Working experience within a manufacturing facility that embraces and implements 5S methodologies.
    • Demonstrated problem analysis and problem solving skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    • An associate degree or similar formal training.

    4-7 years


    Qualifications:
    -5 years of machining critical, tight tolerances.

    • Experience with dual spindle, dual turret, Y axis, bar fed lathes.
    • G&M code understanding.
    • Experience with designing and building basic Jigs and Fixtures.
    • Experience running Vertical Machining Centers, Horizontal Machining Centers, and 5 Axis machines.
    • A deep understanding of basic metrology: Calipers, Micrometers (ID, OD, Depth, Tri mic Bore, etc)
