Job summary
The Records Clerk is responsible for assisting with Freedom of Information requests and remaining up-to-date with Freedom of Information laws and requirements.The position requires a high level of confidentiality and involves close interaction with other records room personnel and members of the public to ensure that public information is disseminated, stored, and/or destroyed in accordance with Stonington Police Department Rules and Regulations and State Law.
Responsibilities include organizing the records archive room, following Clean Slate guidelines in relation to records maintained by Stonington Police, destroying non-essential records in accordance with State Law and policy,
and reporting crime analysis to various Federal and State organizations (Family Violence Offense Reports, NIBRS, etc.).
