    Job Summary

    The Manager, Internal Audit (MIA) is primarily responsible for the examination and evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of ARS's governance, risk management, and internal controls as well as the quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities to achieve ARS's stated goals and objectives. In addition, the MIA must keep pace with legal and regulatory standards associated with ARS's activities as well as clients' work requirements. The MIA must work independently, yet in cooperation with other departments to ensure sufficient preventive and detective controls are in place to responsibly manage risks associated with ARS's operations.

    Compensation

    The compensation for this full time position will range from $75,000 to $90,000 depending on candidate experience and qualifications.

    Essential Duties
    • Develop ARS's annual Internal Audit Plan with senior management and the Executive Chairman's approval.
    • Develop expectations for each audit including objectives, scope, timing, key contacts, deliverables, findings, and conclusions.
    • Coordinate with the various ARS departments to perform internal audits in accordance with ARS's annual Internal Audit Plan.
    • Reviews and coordinates internal audit remediation plans.
    • Drafts internal audit reports.
    • Consistently reviews current processes as part of the annual risk assessment to identify and evaluate potential risk events to the organization.
    • Provide expertise on the design of controls in new and existing business processes.
    • Influence process improvements with business owners.
    • Regularly report audit results and performance relative to the audit plan to senior management and the Executive Chairman.
    • Keeps pace with industry developments, risk management strategies and trends and keeps ARS advised regarding such trends.
    • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Technical and/or Functional Skills & Knowledge
    • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. SQL a plus.
    • Knowledge of FDCPA, GLBA, CFPB and regulatory guidelines affecting third party collection
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors' degree (in any field) or comparable experience
    • 2+ years collection industry experience preferred
    • 2+ years auditing experience
    • Ability to obtain Internal Auditor Certifications
    • Ability to satisfactorily meet ARS's criminal background investigation criteria
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
    Work Environment (Corporate):

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a climate-controlled setting, seated continuously and is sedentary the majority of the workday. This position is currently remote but may require occasional in-office work and is not intended to be permanently remote at which time it will be in a corporate environment with low noise and light foot traffic. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones and photocopiers, and work area stations and/or cubicles are close in proximity to others.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers; and have moderate reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, sit and see in order to perform close-up computer work and phone equipment, and requires close-up vision and color recognition
