- Learn high-performance computing environment, Linux operating system, and numerical methods and simulation workflows needed for the research work
- Prepare CAD geometry and mesh of satellites for simulation setup
- Perform numerical simulations using in-house developed computer code
- Process simulation results, create research reports, and write research papers for publication.
- Able to work independently and remain task-driven
- Good computer programming skills
- Knowledge of computer simulation.
- Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science student
- Good CAD skills
- Familiar with Python or C++ programming language
- Relevant coursework in Fluid Mechanics, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Assistant PI in performing numerical simulations to study the drag force of Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellites, performance characteristics of electric propulsion devices, and hypersonic re-entry modeling and simulation of LEO satellites.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
