    ScopeRegion:
    AmericasMajor/Key AccountabilitiesLead & Direct all Canadian & U.S. Income Tax Compliance, including returns & payments, provisions, planning, and audit defense.

    Income tax return preparation is co-sourced with Consultancy companies for USA, Canada and LATAMLead & Prepare the Canadian & U.S.

    Consolidated Income Tax ProvisionsReview & approve all Tax Provision workbooks and submissions for all LATAM business units in the Latam America regionMaintain the Americas Tax Provision workbooks;Lead future tax compliance automation project for the USAManage future hiring and development of future/potential direct reportLead all Canada & US federal & state income tax audits, including responding to all income tax notices, and audit inquiriesPerform tax research and effectively advise on tax related issues to the business units in the Americas regionMonitor changes in US, Canadian and LATAM tax legislation , and responsible for modeling material implications to Brambles, if any.

    Also, ensure that Brambles is compliant with the new provisions in any final Tax legislation.

    Oversee the management and responsible for BEPS requirements for international income tax compliance for all companies in the AmericasTransfer Pricing matters (international).Prepare the CHEP USA APA Royalty calculations for payment of foreign related party royalties.

    Timely and accurate lodgment of Canadian & US income tax returns, including review of about 100 form 5472 tax filings covering all foreign related party transactions for the 2 Brambles' USA consolidated groupsEnsuring all tax positions taken have at least a more likely than not strength of success/treated in line with Tax risk management policyTax planning to reduce the effective income tax rate (including minimizing tax risk)Maximizing of Group tax attributesDelivery of valued taxation services in a cost effective mannerAuthority/ Decision MakingPrincipal AccountabilitiesU.S.

    Income Tax Compliance - lead entire tax compliance function.

    Perform all quarterly income tax forecastingIncome Tax Provisions - lead the entire tax provision process for the Brambles Americas region.

    Prepare and/or review all income tax provision submissionsLead, prepare and review U.S. Consolidated and Canadian Income Tax ProvisionsLead and develop project management action plan for the entire processensure all final US Tax reform appropriately treated in the US Tax ProvisionPrepare all tax journal entries
    • Analyse the tax liability accounts and tax reservesReview all BRACS submissions by business units in the Americas, and agree to supporting workpapers provided by the business unitsReview all U.
    S. business unit tax expense calculations and agree payments made via intercompany accounts.

    Responsible for making all US estimated and extension income tax paymentsReview and sign-off on all LATAM tax provision workbooks in the Americas regionMaintain/update the tax provision workbook for all business units in the AmericasMaintain/update the State Tax Model used to compute the State Tax RateLead and Respond to all income tax audit inquiries in the U.S.

    & Canada
    • Coordinate with auditors and respond to any income tax audit inquiries, document requests, and various tax notices.
    Assist business units, when needed, on non-income tax related audits.
    Prepare various informational returns
    • Federal Forms 1042 and TD F , Ohio CAT (Commercial Activity Tax), BNA Maryland Property Tax Return, etc.

    Tax Planning:

    Impact to Brambles on proposed US Tax ReformTax research & planning on a wide range of federal, state, and international tax issues.

    Issues related to business acquisitions (including purchase accounting) and divestituresIdentify / analyze / execute value-driven, strategic tax solutionsTraining
