    The Process Technician is responsible for overseeing set-ups and start-ups on existing jobs as well as programming and establishing new jobs; additional responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, material and/or tooling problems. Will be the backup to the shift supervisor.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    ·Must be able perform and may oversee to pre-set, change and set-up all scheduled molds in proper presses according to the set-up procedures, shop orders, in a safe and timely manner; set up all support and secondary equipment needed for a specific job; assures proper packaging is available for job

    ·Must be able to perform color changes and/or insert changes according to the shop order as required

    ·Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot machine and secondary support equipment at all times; report any equipment breakdowns or damage to the supervisor/maintenance department immediately

    ·Must perform daily safety checks on each machine and sign off inspection on the daily check sheet; report any unsafe situations immediately

    ·Operates forklift as needed

    ·Must maintain cycle standards as necessary for quality parts and production standards

    ·May need to visually inspect parts according to control plan, reporting rejects as soon as practical to quality person in charge or as instructed

    ·Must package all product according to the shop order and label properly

    ·Must keep accurate production records

    ·Must be able to set-up new tooling and/or secondary and auxiliary equipment

    ·Process Technician will lend assistance to press operators as well as set-up operators as needed

    ·Provide training to new/existing employees as needed

    ·Must be able to program parameters for all new jobs

    ·Fine tune press parameters within process setup ensure quality with the least waste of time and materials

    ·Submit press setup changes to engineering as needed

    ·Process Technician will process new tooling/material as needed

    ·Process Technician must verify job packet contains current and accurate information

    ·Assist leads in covering the production floor as needed

    ·Performs other related duties as required or requested.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    ·Will act as the backup supervisor when Production Supervisor is out of the office.

    Job Skills Requirements

    ·Must be mechanically inclined; basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills; knowledge in plastic resins, additives a plus

    ·Able to read, write and communicate in English to effectively understand instructions provided and problems associated with equipment and production

    ·Must be able to do basic math addition, subtraction; divide and multiply; understand difference in basic weight and size measurements

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree in plastic or rubber injection molding preferred and 3+ years of experience running plastic or rubber injection molding machines and at least 2 years of mold set-up experience required or equivalent combination of education and training.

    Certifications & Licenses – will be trained and must hold a valid forklift license and overhead crane certification issued by the company.
