    Description
    Investigate, collect and analyze data on traffic conditions especially as they relate to traffic flows. Traffic analysis using Synchro and HCS. Perform design studies and analysis of traffic problems related to the design and positioning of traffic structures and accessories. Examine alternative traffic control devices for effectiveness and make recommendations on the selection and layout of selected equipment. Direct the preparation of maps and layouts of proposed traffic structures with indications as to their general characteristics. Signal Designing using AutoCAD. Devise standards methods and forms for collection and presentation of traffic data. Develop traffic survey techniques.

    • Performs design studies and analyses of traffic problems related to the design and positioning of traffice structures and accessories.
    • Examines alternative traffic control devices for effectiveness and makes recommendations on the selection and layout of selected equipment.
    • Directs the preparation of maps and layouts of proposed traffice structures with indications as to their general characteristics.
    • Assigns and outlines detail work to subordinates, instructs them on objectives and procedures, and reviews their work during process and upon completion.
    • May supervise Assistant Engineers and other technical staff members.
    • Devises standard methods and forms for collection and presentation of traffic data.
    • Develops traffic survey techniques.
    Bachelor's degree in a traffic engineering or traffic planning related field.

    Three years of experience in traffic controls in urban areas and statistical analysis and reporting of traffic data.

    One year of supervisory experience preferred.
