    Description

    This individual will assume responsibility for technical assignments for the design and development of semiconductor and disk media product power supplies and systems. This is a senior level position requiring experience with capital equipment electrical systems, switching power supplies and RF generators. Typically works under minimal supervision in a diverse team (mechanical, software, process, & manufacturing).


    Primary Job Duties
    Required Experience:

    6-10 years of experience designing commercial power electronics products. High-power semiconductor switches (SCR, IGBT, BJT, MOSFET, etc.). Cable Design and system interconnect. Design with safety standards for high power. Create ECO's. Use of test equipment (oscilloscopes, volt meters, impedance, frequency generators) to troubleshoot designs. Design cables and boards for vacuum components (gauges, MFC's, valves, turbo controllers). Use software like Agile or Omnify configuration control. Layout industrial networks (Beckhoff & Siemens) like Ethercat & Profinet. Use of PLCs. Design safety interlocks.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or other related technical discipline, plus years' experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant technical education and experience such as a Masters Degree plus five (5) years experience or a Ph.D. degree.


    Preferred Experience
    Experience with electrical systems design/troubleshooting on typical semiconductor tools including RF plasma, PVD, CVD, and etch processes. Design for EMI, EMC safety compliance. PCB design with Altium. High-power RF circuit design up to 13.56MHz. Knowledge of high and low pass filter design, signal conditioning and noise mitigation. Microcontroller and DSP design. Digital, analog, & mixed design. PDU design experience 480VAC is a plus


    KEY OBJECTIVES FOR FIRST 6 MONTHS

    Support the RF LURMA Match and Source build, testing and CIP. Support dNCT and NCT controllers. REI-ICP Source Match Design. Become familiar with Intevac's ECO process and required documentation. Become familiar with Intevac technology and product offerings.
