- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and standards set by relevant authorities. This includes OSHA regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential safety hazards in asphalt and paving projects and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Training and Education: Provide safety training to construction workers and other staff involved in asphalt and paving projects. Educate them on proper procedures, equipment usage, and emergency response.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the construction site to ensure that safety protocols are being followed. Address any safety concerns promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans for accidents or incidents on the construction site. Ensure that all workers are familiar with the procedures.
- Safety Equipment and Gear (PPE): Ensure that workers have access to and properly use safety equipment and gear, such as helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and reflective vests.
- Communication: Facilitate clear communication regarding safety expectations and procedures among all team members. Encourage an open dialogue about safety concerns.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, training sessions, and incident reports. This documentation may be required for regulatory compliance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in safety technology. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety standards on construction sites.

- A Bachelor's degree preferred
- Five years of safety management experience, or nine years' experience in the Safety field.
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar.
- Five years' experience in Asphalt & Paving operations or construction environment.
