    Job Requirements

    Performs a variety of patient support service tasks including clerical duties, routine housekeeping,
    patient transportation, assisting in providing patient treatment and participates in ordering Rehab office supplies and
    equipment. Works when needed to facilitate communication between other departments such as materials
    management, facilities, and security to assist in day to day operations of the facility and the care management and
    upkeep of Rehab equipment. Supervises and manages the onboarding and training of Rehab Aides. Works under the
    direct supervision of a licensed therapist or assistant.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions

    • Transports patients to and from the departments as necessary.
    • Maintains all therapy supplies on a daily basis
    • Maintains patient and critical care equipment
    • Assists the therapist and assistant in performing treatments as needed and in compliance with Practice Act and
      regulatory agencies. Does not change any treatment from the established plan of care unless directed to do so by the licensed staff.
    • Performs simple housekeeping tasks within the rehab department to enhance operation efficiency, improve patient
      flow, improve patient satisfaction scores, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Completes continuing education and in-service programs to meet regulatory and job requirements as applicable.
    • Actively participates in staff meetings and on committees as requested.
    • Participates in performance improvement activities.
    • Presents and promotes a professional demeanor at all times, establishes high standards of customer service and patient care, supports responsibility, pride, and teamwork, remains calm when under pressure, and offers reasonable solutions for problems. Relates to patients in a compassionate and sincere manner.
    • Demonstrates appropriate interaction with and provides recommended care and services to all patients. Exhibits
      knowledge and basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, and the cultural needs of all patients.
    • Applies knowledge of principles of standard precautions. Routinely and consistently uses PPE to avoid risk of exposure to self and others.
    • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    • Respects diverse views and approaches, and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors. Attends all H.E.A.R.T trainings.
    • Manages maintaining and ordering of Rehab office supplies and equipment.
    • Manages and communicates with other departments such as materials management and facilities to manage overall day to day operations of the rehab facilities and the care and management of the Rehab equipment. (i.e. scheduling routine maintenance checks for electrical equipment) Supervises and manages the onboarding and training of Rehab Aides.
    • Provides coverage when needed at other locations within Heywood Healthcare.
    • Completes all Annual Mandatory Education requirements and any other required mandatory education. (i.e. malpractice)
    • Participates in meeting Quality measures, tracking and reporting.
    • All other duties and locations as assigned.
    Qualifications:

    Minimum Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required or must obtain within 1 year of employment

    Experience

    • Prior experience with patients preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    • BLS required or must obtain within 90 days of employment

    Required Skills

    • Ability to accurately describe a patient's condition and reaction to treatment to supervising assistant or therapist.
    • Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
      Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software.

    Functional Demands

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands).
