    Job Title: Senior VDI Engineer at SAIC

    Description:

    SAIC is looking for a Senior VDI Engineer to join their team in Virginia Beach, VA. The chosen candidate will play a key role in providing VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) engineering and Microsoft Windows Server system administration support for Information Warfare Training Command, Virginia Beach, VA. This position involves managing Microsoft Windows and VMware virtual infrastructure, participating in change management, incident response processes, and occasional travel to Pensacola, FL for orientation.

    • Manage VMware vSphere and Horizon server VDI and Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure.
    • Automate system configurations following industry best practices.
    • Conduct testing of upgrades and patches for Windows Server and VMware vSphere.
    • Program in administrative languages such as PowerShell and VMWare CLI.
    • Interact with the engineering management team and senior customer personnel on coordination matters.
    • Understand networking theory, including routing and switching.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years of experience or a Master's degree and three years of experience.

    Required Skills:

    • Minimum of two years of VDI experience.
    • Proficiency in various technologies, protocols, security controls, and systems.
    • Experience with server/network design topologies and advanced security control implementation.

    Certifications:

    • Active CompTIA Security+ ce certification required.
    • Ability to obtain VMware VCP certification within six months of hire.

    Clearance Required:

    • Active Secret security clearance and eligibility for upgrade to TS/SCI.

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge and experience in implementing VMware and Microsoft best practices.
    • Understanding and implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) security configurations.
    • Experience with ACAS/Nessus scans and security compliance tools.
    • Proficiency in data backup/restoration with VEEAM.
