    Job Description:


    OVO, a branding agency in Portland, is seeking a passionate and skilled UI/Web Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis.

    In this role, you'll be responsible for creating beautiful, intuitive, and user-centered interfaces for websites and web applications.

    You'll collaborate with a small team of close-knit designers, strategists, and developers to translate ideas into well-executed, functional designs that align with our brand guidelines and user needs.

    Your primary focus will be website design, with additional digital and social ad design responsibilities. An understanding of WordPress and Elementor is a bonus.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Lead Website Design:

    Drive the design of intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for websites, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and best practices.


    Support Digital Campaigns:
    Contribute to the design of engaging digital and social ads, maintaining consistency across platforms.

    Project Management:

    Assess requirements, conceptualize solutions, manage tasks, and execute designs across multiple client accounts with a high degree of ownership.


    Critical Thinking:
    Engage in thoughtful analysis and present design solutions effectively, demonstrating your strategic mindset.

    Quality Assurance:
    Meticulously proof files and ensure final deliverables meet the highest standards.

    Collaboration:
    Work seamlessly with OVO team members, external partners, and clients, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.


    Role Requirements:
    Education and Experience
    BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent knowledge and experience.
    Minimum of 5 years of agency experience, demonstrating increasing responsibility and leadership (small agency experience preferred).
    Compelling portfolio showcasing exceptional UI/UX design, visual identity, and a range of digital design capabilities.

    Technical Abilities
    Mastery of Sketch and/or Figma.
    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
    Experience with Harvest, , Slack, and Google Apps.

    Design and Professional Abilities
    Deep understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
    Proven track record in visual identity design and its application across web platforms.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills (explaining solutions, giving/receiving feedback, maintaining positive relationships with team and clients).
    Strong project management expertise (estimation, milestones, budget adherence).
    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
    Adaptability to diverse brands and existing style guides.
    Self-motivated team player with a 'wear many hats' attitude and a willingness to mentor junior team members.

    Travel
    Travel is not required.
