    About the Position:

    We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at various locations in Rye Brook, Port Chester, and Mamaroneck. The ideal candidate should have a diverse set of skills and be enthusiastic about furthering YAI's mission of aiding individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive within their communities.

    DSPs collaborate closely with individuals of all age groups who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). They may be required to work in different settings such as a person's home, their family's residence, a YAI facility, a day habilitation center, or within the community.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide essential direct care services as necessary, including counseling, ADLs training, personal care assistance, medical support, social interaction, recreational activities, financial guidance, habilitative assistance, and more within the program.
    • Ensure the well-being, safety, and health of the individuals we support.
    • Foster and sustain positive relationships.
    • Help individuals we support in enhancing their strengths, interests, and abilities through education, self-advocacy, and emotional backing.
    • Encourage community integration, recreational engagements, and social interactions.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Preferably hold a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Previous experience in the I/DD field is advantageous but not obligatory.
    • Capability to complete New York State-mandated OPWDD training on three to five weekdays during regular business hours.

    Schedule:

    • Various full-time and part-time positions available, including weekdays and/or weekends - with options for morning, evening, and overnight shifts.

    Compensation:

    • Salary ranging from $16.50/hour to $18.00/hour (depending on experience).
