Description

General Responsibilities:
Responsible for continuously identifying and preventing cyber threats to the company's computing environment. Detect weaknesses in the company's computing infrastructure (software, hardware, networks) and develop innovative methods to safeguard it. Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for computer networks and information. Ensure the implementation of adequate security controls to protect digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. Acts as the primary internal point of contact for handling business-impacting computer security breaches and viruses. Availability during night and weekend hours when necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop strategies to protect computer files from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or disclosure, and address emergency data processing requirements.
Review instances of computer security violations and engage with violators to prevent repeat occurrences.
Plan, implement, and enhance security measures and controls.
Establish protocols and plans to defend digital files and information systems against unauthorized alterations, access, and destruction.
Monitor data and regulate security access.
Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk evaluations, and security audits.
Execute risk assessments and tests on the data processing system to verify operational effectiveness and security protocols.
Perform internal security evaluations.

Essential Job Functions Continued:

Proactively anticipate security incidents, alerts, and disasters to mitigate risks.
Collaborate with the infrastructure team on managing network security, intrusion prevention, detection systems, and encryption methods.
Analyze security breaches to identify root causes.
Suggest and deploy appropriate tools and countermeasures.
Develop, enforce, and update corporate security policies.
Provide security training and guidance to colleagues in coordination with relevant departments.
Coordinate security strategies with external vendors.

Essential Job Functions Continued:

Address eDiscovery requests, data collection inquiries, and digital forensics tasks.
Participate in an on-call rotation outside regular hours as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
Ensure secure maintenance and transmission of protected health information for employees, patients, and others as required.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing duties.
Comply with all safety standards set by management.
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Experience:

At least five (5) years of experience in a security analyst role.
Experience in penetration testing, vulnerability testing, and remediation.
Knowledge of anti-virus and anti-malware systems.
Familiarity with TCP/IP, computer networking, routing and switching.
Proficiency in firewalls, proxies, IDS, IPS, and security appliances.
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
Understanding of network protocols and packet analysis tools.
Familiarity with development and scripting languages like C#, VB, Python, C, .NET.
Knowledge of cloud computing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid driver's license.
Preferred certifications include CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) and ECSA (EC-Council Certified Security Analyst).
