    Description

    The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care and clinical oversight for infusions being administered in ambulatory infusion centers while also ensuring the delivery of infusion services is compliant with all payors, licensing, and credentialing bodies.

    This position requires traveling between Huntingdon Valley, PA and Havertown, PA.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Responsible for the efficient and effective management and coordination of all aspects of service delivery of Axiva Infusion Clinics.


    • Supervision of assigned staff including but not limited to RNs and other non-clinical staff assigned to Axiva Infusion Clinics.


    • Manage day-to-day clinic operations of patient care.


    • Evaluate and document the competency of all staff at Axiva Infusion Clinics.


    • Ensure efficient use of patient and staff time and optimize patient flow and resource/chair utilization.


    • Address any clinical (order clarification, patient status, plan of care, etc.) and service-related issues to the optimal resolution for the prescribers, patient, family and Axiva.


    • Work with the Manager of Ambulatory Clinic Operations to provide onsite day to day guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff.


    • Responsible for Axiva Infusion Clinics staff adherence to all Axiva policies and procedures.


    • Provide onsite infusions for all government payer patients.


    • Acknowledges and agrees to complete any documentation to commercial, government and managed Medicaid payers for Axiva Infusion Clinics to bill and process claims.


    • Maintains strong knowledge of all existing and developing infusion therapies.


    • Provides direct patient care in infusing select patients ensuring patient care is documented in the EHR including appropriate note documentation.


    • Assess/reassess patients admitted for injection/infusion services and evaluate, response to care


    • Schedule care in coordination with staff to meet the therapy needs of the patients.


    • Complete and sign off on required paperwork (assessments, communication notes, orders, and other related paperwork) on the day services are provided.


    • Assists in the development of protocol and Plans of Treatment for new therapies added toCompany's service line.

     Serves as aresource to all clinical staff.


    • When needed, represents Axiva to referring physicians in matters regarding both general and specific patient services.


    • Provide consultation to Quality Assurance committee and to the administrative staff


    • Assist in the development and update of the patients' plan of treatment, to include transfer and discharge planning.


    • Recommend protocol changes, as necessary.


    • Review the medical necessity and appropriateness of service plans in unique□-


    • Audit a sample of patient records to ensure that service plans and their delivery are consistent with policies and regulatory guidelines.


    • Maintain current knowledge of trends in the medical field and share this knowledge with members of nursing staff and senior leadership team.


    • Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs relating to patient services.


    • Provide guidance forall services in the provision of patient care on an as-needed consultative basis for problem resolution.


    • Provide consultation with respect to quality improvement, medical trends, marketing, education, and related areas.


    • Identify and evaluate present and potential needs and the resources in relation to community infusion programs.


    • Attend quality assurance meetings and assist with audits and regulatory functions. '


    • Oversee the infusions being administered by RNs in the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC).


    • Other duties may be assigned.

    • Mantain_ professional licensure, certification and health requirements asrequired for this pos1t10n.


    • All NURSE PRACTITIONERS must fully uphold all principles of confidentiality and patient care. This position has access to sensitive information and a breach of these principles will be grounds for immediate termination.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING

    Experience/Education:

    NURSE PRACTITIONER with experience in acute care or family physician setting. Possesses strong knowledge of chronic disease states as well as current and emerging therapies.

    Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program and active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in the state(s) where job performed.

    Current PA Nurse Practitioner license

    Current DEA License
