    Description

    Primary Purpose of the Position

    The Quality Control Manager will coordinate, and direct quality control programs across plant operation designed to ensure continuous productions consistent with established standards to promote and support the success of the job shop organization.

    Essential Functions / Duties

    Communicate and support corporate/team policies/procedures to team member and enforce safety regulations.

    Manage and support day-to-day activities and expectations of the plant managers, shop leads, engineers, and project managers.

    Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.

    Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant manager to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

    Directs, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.

    Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.

    Participates in planning production schedules, technical requirements and manufacturing controls related to operations

    Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

    Role / Department / Location Specific Requirements

    Reports to the Plant Manager and Chief Operating Officer

    Position is based at Plant 1 in Birmingham, Alabama

    Job Requirements

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Minimum four-year bachelors degree

    Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience in CNC machining and fabrication

    3-5 years Quality Control experience in a supervisor or management capacity

    Have worked in an AISC and ISO environment

    Broad knowledge of manufacturing and quality principles and familiarity with labor-intensive machining, fabrications, and assembly operations

    Working knowledge of manufacturing management programs

    Demonstrated supervisory, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills to motivate and manage a diverse group of individuals in a variety of positions

    Preferred working knowledge of EPICOR system

    Strong technical skills

    Strong Organizational skills

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, and smell. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
