    Description
    Venatôre has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Configuration Manager
    As a Hardware Configuration Manager for the CENTCOM CITS contract, you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining the hardware infrastructure to support mission-critical operations
    You will work within a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and security of hardware configurations across the enterprise
    Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of IT systems supporting defense operations

    Responsibilities:

    Configuration Management:

    • Develop and implement hardware configuration management plans in accordance with DoD standards and guidelines.
    • Establish and maintain configuration baselines for all hardware components, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with configuration management policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to document and track hardware configurations throughout their lifecycle, including changes and updates

    Change Management:

    • Evaluate proposed changes to hardware configurations and assess their potential impact on system performance, security, and functionality.
    • Collaborate with system administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to review change requests and implement approved changes.
    • Document and communicate changes to relevant parties, ensuring awareness and understanding of configuration modifications.
    • Monitor and track the implementation of hardware changes, verifying successful implementation and addressing any issues or discrepancies

    Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with hardware configurations, including vulnerabilities, compatibility issues, and dependencies.
    • Implement controls and safeguards to protect hardware integrity and prevent unauthorized modifications or access.
    • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate potential risks and adapt configuration management strategies accordingly.
    • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure hardware configurations meet security requirements and standards

    Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of hardware configurations, including specifications, diagrams, and inventory records.
    • Generate reports and metrics to track configuration status, change activities, and compliance with configuration management policies.
    • Prepare presentations and briefings for stakeholders, providing insights into configuration management initiatives, challenges, and achievements.
    • Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and evidence to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the hardware configuration management process.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, tools, and techniques for efficient and effective configuration management.
    • Stay abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies related to hardware configuration management, seeking opportunities to enhance capabilities and performance

    Required Qualifications:

    • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
    • HS diploma +10 years' experience; OR
    • Bachelor's degree +8 years' experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware configuration management, preferably in a defense or government contracting environment.
    • Proficiency in configuration management tools and methodologies, such as CMDB, ITIL, and version control systems.
    • Strong understanding of DoD security requirements and standards, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and STIGs.
