    The main functions of the Financial Analyst include: provides analytical support in order to deliver financial results. Works with internal workers to provide ad-hoc cost analysis and understand / explain variances between operations estimates and financials. Identifies and implements improvements to cost management processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Prepares cost reports including forecasts/outlooks. Monitors project accounting. Works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.

    Location: Midland, TX - 100% in office, no remote

    Contract Duration: 12 months with potential to extend

    Responsibilities
    • Data analysis, financial systems (SAP), financial controls, basic accounting, attention to detail
    • Knowledge of OpenInvoice, WellView, Spotfire, Analytics for Office (AO) a plus
    Qualifications
    • Ideal candidate - quick learner with experience analyzing data (operations estimates and financial) and providing insight into differences, basic activity-based costing concepts
    • Ability to use knowledge of business to provide insightful analysis to operations team with recommendations / solutions (not just data) in a fast paced environment
    • Knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry and basic understanding of Drilling and Completions activities a plus.
    • Role is expected to review operations estimates and financial information of a high volume of activity to identify errors / explanations of variances for monthly cost reporting (quick turnaround) and provide suggestions to improve upon our cost estimating, forecasting and stewarding processes
