    The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. HilltopSecurities is currently seeking to hire an Operations Supervisor within Purchase & Sales.

    The P&S (Purchase & Sales) is responsible for the comparisons of stocks & bonds traded daily. The department reports trade breaks to our traders and correspondents based on real time information and reports received daily. P&S is responsible for ensuring these items match and clear within mandated timeframes for daily settlement.

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible for direct supervision, development, and evaluation of department staff members.
    • Responsible for development, maintenance, and monitoring of controls to ensure regulatory and service standards are not only met but exceeded.
    • Supports performance of daily, weekly, and monthly department tasks.
    • Assists with technical issues as needed.
    • Responsible for communication and effective interaction with business analysts, programmers, and other outside sources to facilitate product development and process support.
    • Must use proactive measures to produce desired results including the development of new products, processes, and procedures and/or improving those already in place.
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • College Degree preferred.
    • Series 99 required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Brokerage Firm Operations, specifically focused on the trading or trade clearance areas.
    • Ability to formulate goals and project plans and direct execution of the action items.
    • Ability to quickly interpret and resolve problems.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Previous supervisory or Team lead experience preferred of at least 1 year.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and back-office systems
    • Quick learner, team player with ability to work well in fast paced environment.
    • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to work well independently and prioritize tasks for themselves and the team.

    About the Team

    The Operations department's work is vital to the functionality and success of HilltopSecurities. The department provides back-office support and service for the entire firm. With well over 100 employees ranging from specialists to senior managers, each individual plays a specific role in the overarching operation of the company. Operations' areas of focus include clearance, settlement, unit investment trusts, government and mortgage-backed securities, money market instruments, and OTC derivates. Our Operations professionals also manage transactions between mutual funds and insurance carriers and their respective investors.
