    Job Summary:
    Provides oversight of the accounting team and ensures accurate financial reporting.


    Duties/Responsibilities:
    Ensure financial data for all hotels and the management company is entered accurately.

    Produce and review monthly financial reports for all hotels and the management company

    Monitor daily bank transactions and balances.

    Monitor incoming credit card transactions for accuracy and correct discrepancies.

    Manage cash flow for all hotels and the management company.

    Reconcile operating, cash and credit card accounts as needed.

    Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.

    Assist with accounts payable duties to ensure all vendor invoices are accounted for timely.

    Review accounts receivable balances.

    Reconcile and report discrepancies in financial records.

    Key journal entries as needed for monthly reporting and reconciliation.

    Verify and assist with month and year end closing processes.

    Create and maintain accounting standard operating procedures.

    Other related duties as assigned.


    Required Skills/Abilities:
    Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.

    Proficient knowledge of hotel operations.


    Ability to understand and use accounting software to record, store, and analyze data; experience with M3 Accounting software, Quickbooks, and Inn-Flow is a plus.

    Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple tasks each day.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suites.

    Attention to details and exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Ability to effectively manage and build a team.


    Education and Experience:
    An Associate's degree with accounting coursework is preferred.

    At least five years of bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in the hotel industry is required.


    Physical Requirements:
    Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment.

    Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read, and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week and weekends necessary to meet business requirements.
