    The UVA Brain Institute is seeking candidates for a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) 1, 2, or 3, Licensed or non-Licensed, to join our growing team.

    The Clinical Research roles are ideal for individuals with some clinical research experience or those looking to begin a rewarding career in clinical research.

    In this position, you will work with an experienced CRC and/or Principal Investigator on a variety of research projects across multiple neuroscience-related disciplines.

    The UVA Brain Institute builds and sustains interdisciplinary neuroscience research teams across Grounds to address major societal challenges.

    In 2022, the University announced a $75M in an interdisciplinary effort to pioneer life changing advances in neuroscience, while simultaneously mapping the workings of the human brain.

    This investment allows the Brain Institute and its partners across Grounds to better understand perplexing conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and autism, as well as how the brain functions over a lifespan.

    By creating a network of closely interacting basic, translational, data, and clinical neuroscientists at multiple schools at UVA, the Institute is poised to bring neuroscience to preeminence and make both good and great contributions to our local community, commonwealth, country, and world.

    Our research team conducts a variety of investigator-initiated studies and also supports federally funded and industry clinical research. Nearly all studies require the collection, processing, and shipment of biospecimens.


    We actively collaborate with faculty members across Grounds; therefore, this role may offer the opportunity to work with investigators from a variety of schools and departments.

    Applicants must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and should have the ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful in the workplace.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have strong problem-solving skills.

    This position is a 2-year restricted position and renewal is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.


    Job Responsibilities Include:

    • Work closely with Principal Investigators and other study team members on all clinical research projects assigned.
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the regulatory framework for FDA and non-FDA regulated studies.
    • Facilitate and / or complete activities required for study start-up including regulatory submissions and other aspects required for site initiation.
    • Coordinate multiple clinical trials or research projects simultaneously.
    • Manage ongoing clinical trial conduct from enrollment to follow up visits, data management, safety reporting and compliance oversight.
    • Prepare and submit regulatory documentation to the IRB such as: personnel changes, annual protocol continuations, protocol modifications, adverse event reports, unanticipated events.
    • Demonstrate proficiency with the various electronic platforms utilized in clinical research such as: IRB Pro, Protocol Builder, CRConnect, OnCore, e-regulatory platforms and Epic.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    Clinical Research Coordinator 1, Non-Licensed


    • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or certifications.
    • Experience: None. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
    Clinical Research Coordinator 2, Non-Licensed


    • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or certifications.
    • Experience: At least one year of clinical research experience. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
    Clinical Research Coordinator 3, Non-Licensed


    • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or certifications.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience required. Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of clinical research experience.
    • Licensure: Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is preferred at the time of hire and is required within one year.
    CRC-1.

    CRC-2, CRC-3 LICENSED CRC REQUIREMENT:


    The candidate must be licensed to Practice in Clinical Profession such as but not limited to: Registered Nurse (diploma for RN may substitute for the degree requirement), Athletic Training, Pharmacology, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy or Registered Respiratory Therapy.
