- Rotating Equipment assembly/disassembly
- Push/pull pumps and motors
- Install seals/packing
- Make recommendations to customers on repair options
- Knowledge of, and perform, necessary repairs to achieve/maintain operations
- Perform start-ups/commissioning of equipment.
- Change oil/grease on various pumps, gearboxes, motors, etc.
- Diagnose and correct basic mechanical issues
- Advise customers of basic PM activities as recommended by OEM and/or TP PUMP
- Complete required reports for the work completed
- Understand and perform basic LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) functions
- Troubleshoot <480-volt systems
- Remove and/or install new or repaired <480-volt equipment
- Experienced in PLCs and VFD troubleshooting
- Experience in general electrical installations such as wire pulling and terminations.
- Conduit, panel board, and basic electrical device installs
- Understand and perform alignments and the necessity for equipment reliability
- Achieve alignments on equipment in unfavorable conditions
- Work with customers to explain the necessary modifications needed to achieve proper alignment
- Complete information in reports as required
- Clean and organize shop and field service vehicles, as required
- Work with Customer Service, Shop, and Sales
- Field calls pertinent to TP PUMP customers and various projects
- Capable of using and reading precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers
- Strong sense of urgency and keen attention to detail
- Able to wear personal protection equipment, including a respirator as necessary
- Ability to work overtime hours based on customer demands
- Ability to maintain an inventory of supplies carried on company-supplied work truck
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Fundamental understanding of rotating equipment, fabrication/manufacturing of equipment, and machine shop practices
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a constructive and timely manner
- Show competency in filling in paperwork communicating effectively, and understanding exploded diagrams or cross-sectional drawings
- Good communication skills with others by telephone, written documents, or in person
- Ability to interact with customers and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
- High School or equivalent, with mechanical aptitude and skills
- 5+ years of repair, maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance preferred
- Able to obtain MEC (Medical Examiner's Certificate) under DOT as a 'non-CDL' commercial motor vehicle driver
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Ability to easily operate a computer and software such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Willing to travel occasionally
- Willing to take after-hour calls
- Must be able to hear sounds and designate differences between them, and talk via telephone and electronic devices in the workplace
- Ability to operate and read from a computer/laptop monitor
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Variable work environment - work is conducted both indoors and outdoors with varying environmental conditions at customer, vendor, and JCI facilities
- Fast-paced environment, subject to schedule, priority changes, and short notice activity.
- Ability to work outdoors and possibly in inclement weather
- Willingness to work in wastewater environments as necessary
