Your Title: Backend Software Engineer

Your Location: Remote/preferably the Greater Boston Area

You Report To: Engineering Manager

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm EST

Compensation: $120K + benefits

About the Opportunity:

What you will do:

Design, develop, and implement backend services using strong programming fundamentals.
Be a self-starter with strong work ethic.
Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration between the client-side and server-side applications.
Participate in the design and implementation of robust and scalable system architectures.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.

What you bring:

2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on backend technologies.
2+ years of experience in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle.
Experience with API design and development principles.
Ability to think about systems; their edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycles.
Experience with building and deploying applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) (a plus).
Strong understanding of design patterns and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
Excellent communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
You are customer-focused, react well to changes, and able to multi-task on multiple products and projects.
A passion for building high-quality software.
