    Job Description:

    The OccupationalTherapist I/II / Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II position serves toprovide quality occupational therapy services to a predominantly NativeAmerican population for the rehabilitation of patients with various developmental,cognitive and/or mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administeringmedically prescribed occupational therapy.

    Responsible for assessing andinterpreting evaluation/s and test results for patients ranging in age frombirth through geriatric; determining occupational therapy treatment plans inconsultation with physicians or by prescription and setting realistic treatmentgoals depending on the patients physical, mental abilities, needs, andevaluation findings and/or diagnosis and documenting in electronic healthrecords (EHR); evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting,and evaluating patients progress; recommending and implementing adjustmentsand modification to therapy plan; promote maximum independence by selecting andconstructing therapies according to the patients goals and needs; maintainsthe operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatientsand inpatients (regular work week, weekend services not available at this time,and depending on location of clinic
    • TCRHCC or SPHC); documentation of patientcare services by charting in patients records; provision of specialty servicesto include but not limited to custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitivetreatment, activities of daily living; provision of specialty clinics (dependingon location of clinic) including but not limited to Spinal Cord clinic, Functionalclinic, Geriatric clinic, Assistive Technology/adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment,Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program; assists with directionand development of the occupational therapy service to include continuedquality improvement, risk management and safety; complies with federal, andstate occupational therapy certification requirements and follow TCHRCC policyand procedures; complies with the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics andOccupational Therapy Profession-Scope of Practice as set forth by the AmericanOccupational Therapy Association; provide training and in services for studentand staff education; consult with rehabilitation team, and other health careworkers (e.
    g., physician, nurses, social workers, etc.); and other duties. Responsibilities also include maintaining MedicalStaff Credentialing Core Privileges.

    Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation, a JCAHO accredited health center, provides services to a 4,400 square mile area and serves as a referral center for the western part of the Navajo and Hopi Reservations.

    The hospital was constructed in 1975 with a bed capacity of 73.

    Services provided to the community include comprehensive inpatient/outpatient emergency services, dental and ophthalmology services, orthopedics, OB/GYN, oral surgery, eye surgery and urological procedures.

    Approximately 49% of the surgeries performed are outpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures. Learn more about our organization. Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation is located in Northwestern Arizona on the land known as the Colorado Plateau.

    This semi-desert landscape varies in elevation from 4,400 in the Little Colorado River Valley to nearly 7,000 feet at Preston Mesa.

    The unique community of Tuba City offers a culturally rich environment. The Native American tribes located and served here are the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute.

    This mixture along with Anglo, Hispanic, and African American employees of the hospital and school systems make a pleasantly diverse community.

    The staff of medical providers includes surgeons, general medical officers, internal medicine, psychiatrists, pediatricians, family practice physicians, obstetricians, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists.

    Dental staff includes general dentists, endodontists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric dentists, dental assistants and hygienists.

    The nursing staff includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, community health nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, CRNA, and community health medics.
    Fingerprinting must be submitted and cleared prior to start.

    REQUIRED:

    Bachelors in Occupational Therapy from a school accreditedby the American Occupational Therapy Association's Accreditation Council forOccupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

    Must possess a valid, current, full and unrestricted license from theAmerican Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of HealthLicensure or in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or theCommonwealth of Puerto Rico, or eligible for licensure in Occupational Therapyin State of Arizona.

    Must have and maintain a current Basic LifeSupport (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association. Applicantmust meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff. All related information required forcredentialing must be provided.
