    Summary of Job

    The Clerk - Senior Center will be responsible for supporting Menasha Senior Center activities by providing a variety of administrative duties in a professional and positive manner. This includes monitoring Center activities, assisting facility users, ensuring daily activities and programs are set up and ready to begin, preparing necessary reports, and responding to a variety of inquiries including from outside agencies. The Clerk will also perform routine customer service duties.

    Typical hours per week: 12
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Greet and assist Senior Center visitors; provide information and make appropriate referrals.
    • Monitor all ongoing Center activities including those provided by internal or external staff, or facility rental groups; provide assistance as requested; ensure compliance with City facility-use regulations; maintain facility security.
    • Answer all incoming telephone calls and emails. Responds to information inquiries and requests regarding Senior Center activities.
    • Assist in the preparation and updating of Senior Center marketing materials as requested including social media and website.
    • Gather information for monthly program summary; input data into a computer; prepare reports on monthly program performance as necessary.
    • Register and check-in program participants using a dedicated registration software.
    • Perform and assist with establishing administrative functions in an efficient manner including but not limited to: filing, word processing, tracking information, and maintaining department logs.
    • Set up equipment and areas/rooms for special events or activities.
    • Perform basic clean-up duties after activities.
    • Open and close Senior Center facility as needed.
    • Schedule events and rentals using program software, and monitor facility usage. Provide tours and rental information to community members.
    • Communicate effectively with volunteers and staff.
    • Report for work as scheduled.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Previous experience working with the older adult population preferred.
    • Previous administrative experience preferred.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders, both within and outside the Senior Center.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records of all monies received at the Senior Center.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, volunteers, other City employees, and the public.
    • Working knowledge of office equipment, including but not limited to computer, copier/printer, facsimile machine, and multi-line phone.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/personal computers.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    • High school graduate
    • Valid WI Driver's License
