    Job Description:
    Duties/Responsibilities
    Cleans, stocks, and readies the department for care for patients.
    Orders equipment and supplies; maintains par levels of supplies
    Maintains equipment and prepares for readiness.
    Performs housekeeping duties as needed (i


    e:
    emptying trash and linen).
    Performs errands to other areas of the hospital.
    Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
    Performs clinical functions, utilizes sterile technique when necessary, and obtains labs specimens, vital signs, and other tasks as needed.
    Carries out tasks as directed by physicians, nurse director and nursing staff.
    Maintenance of the medical records located on the nursing unit.

    Unit receptionist responsibilities:
    telephone, visitor assistance, specimen delivery, phone calls, mail distribution.
    Coordinates appointments with Central Scheduling.
    E ntry and reconciliation of infusion charges under direction of the nurse
    Responsible for the performance of clerical duties on the nursing unit

    Experience/Knowledge/Skills


    Required:
    Possesses organizational and planning skills.
    Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
    Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment.
    Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.

    Education Required
    Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level.
    Knowledge of basic patient care technical procedures.
    Demonstrated computer skills.
    Registration/Certification
    AHA BLS certification ( may be

    within 2 weeks of hire).
    MA Certified Nurse Assistant License required.
