    Surgical Technologist Role




    • Assist the Circulating Nurse in preparing the surgery area with necessary supplies instrumentation and equipment according to patient needs.

    • Maintain safety awareness for patients and equipment proper handling identification of specimens.

    • Collaborate with team members to check restock necessary supplies in assigned room fiscally responsible manner.

    • Prepare operative site under registered nurse direction assists other surgical team members as needed reports procedure status to relief team.

    • Demonstrate commitment personal growth development attending in-services maintaining certification keeping updated on meeting minutes policies procedures.

    • Recognize importance teamwork consideration cooperation operating room environment maintain sterile fields quality patient care ensuring asepsis accuracy policies procedures assist anticipate surgeon verify complete sponge needle instrument counts inspect supplies equipment sterilization standards applied techniques operative procedures identify apply principles sterile technique assisting each procedure working independently accomplishing job responsibilities adhering Association Surgical Technologist Standards Practice.
