    Job DescriptionSUMMARY
    The Project Engineer (2D) designs and details compressor systems and provides technical support to users of Dearing's engineered products. Recipients of this support include Dearing production, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms, and/or end users. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring units satisfy all applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
    To include, but not limited to, the following:
    • Review and integrate customer specifications.
    • Generate, review and approve piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID), bill of materials (BOM), drawing packet cover sheets, and unit spare parts lists.
    • Mechanical design of complete compressor systems, including piping, vessels, coolers and instrumentation based on required specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
    • Review and approve project detail drawings.
    • Work with analysis firms on acoustic, mechanical, and torsional reports and integrate with the project design.
    • Work with vendors on needed equipment, including drawing reviews and approvals.
    • Main point of contact for customers and 3rd party design firms on assigned projects, design approvals, and project schedules.
    • Participate in customer meetings, shop tours, test runs, design reviews, standards reviews, and engineering scheduling meetings.
    • Provide support to production, purchasing, and supply chain departments.
    • Provide technical support to Dearing shop, field service personnel, 3rd party design firms, and end users. Assist with troubleshooting issues encountered in both fabrication and in the field.
    • Work with quality control providing support and documentation for in-process and completed units.
    • Generate and maintain change order requests with customers.

    Education and/or Experience
    • B.S. (4 Year) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or B.S.A.S. (4 Year) Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
    • 1 – 3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Proficiency with gas compressor packaging design and fabrication.

    Mathematical Skills
    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    Computer Skills
    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 3D design software (Inventor/Solid Works), 2D design software (AutoCAD), as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
