    Job Description

    The Post/Pre-Op Registered Nurse provides specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery.

    • Assesses patients pre-operatively by reviewing medical history performing physical examinations identifying potential risks preparing them for surgery educating them about procedures post-operative care receiving conducting comprehensive assessments transferring from operating room assessing their post-anesthesia condition monitoring complications managing pain recovery administering prescribed medications treatments maintaining awareness comfort safety needs observing documenting patient conditions responses appropriateness taking temperature pulse blood pressure vital signs detecting deviations responding promptly emergency situations utilizing Pre/post op nursing standards policies procedures protocols accurately documenting assessments interventions recovery progress individualized patient family education plans detailed discharge instructions guidelines collaborating surgical team healthcare providers ensuring continuity care participating handoff communications unit departments operating equipment ventilators monitors infusion pumps adhering hospital safety protocols infection control regulatory standards.
