We are seeking an AVP to be a part of our Middle Market Property team in Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Warren, NJ or Atlanta office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest.
The selected candidate will assist in implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest.
This plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region.Building and underwriting a diverse and profitable book of businessDeveloping and maintaining productive working relationships with appointed brokersDeveloping, implementing and controlling pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieve desired financial goalsEffectively working with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and Information TechnologyMentor and coach underwriters both technically and professionallyMaintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.
QualificationsBachelors or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years Commercial Property underwriting experience.Experience in single carrier property marketBe self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skillsOutstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skillsAbility to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazardsMinimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a departmentally related field.
